2Get Your Affairs Straightened Out
In some states, children can remain on their parent’s insurance policies until the age of 26 if they live at home. If you are going to live on-campus while in college, you may still be eligible for this coverage. It is a good idea to find out before you leave for the start of the semester.
You may also want to consider filling out a healthcare power of attorney before you leave. Making sure that things are in order will take the burden off your family if something happens.
3You May Not Like Your First Roommate
During your first semester of college, there’s a good chance your roommate will be selected randomly or based on a short questionnaire. While there is a possibility you will be great friends, there is a chance you won’t get along, too.
